Star Trek Next Generation Complete Series

Amazon Review: Like in the original Trek, it was in the stories themselves that much of the show's success is to be found. That pesky Prime Directive kept moral dilemmas afloat ("Justice"/"Who Watches the Watchers?"/"First Contact"). More "what if" scenarios came out of time-travel episodes ("Cause and Effect"/"Time's Arrow"/"Yesterday's Enterprise"). And there were some episodes that touched on the political world, such as "The Arsenal of Freedom" questioning the supply of arms, "Chain of Command" decrying the torture of political prisoners and "The Defector", which was called "The Cuban Missile Crisis of The Neutral Zone" by its writer. The show ran for more than twice as many episodes as its progenitor and therefore had more time to explore wider ranging issues. But the choice of issues illustrates the change in the social climate that had occurred with the passing of a couple of decades. "Angel One" covered sexism; "The Outcast" was about homosexuality; "Symbiosis"--drug addiction; "The High Ground"--terrorism; "Ethics"--euthanasia; "Darmok"--language barriers; and "Journey's End"--displacement of Indians from their homeland. It would have been unthinkable for the original series to have tackled most of these. TNG could so easily have been a failure, but it wasn't. It survived a writer's strike in its second year, the tragic death of Roddenberry just after Trek's 25th anniversary in 1991, and plenty of competition from would-be rival franchises. Yes, its maintenance of an optimistic future was appealing, but the strong stories and readily identifiable characters ensured the viewers' continuing loyalty. --Paul Tonks
As with my love for Science Fiction, Star Trek has been a major player in my life as a Kid to an Adult. The Future thought about by Gene Roddenberry's, bought about a change in the way we think of science fiction. If anything, I would say this show was brought about because the need of moral story lines and the identifiable charaters that we have grown to love. Gene Died on October 24, 1991, and according to reports that he saw the early version of Star Trek VI : Undiscovered Country. He would call this a wagon train to the stars. This series has been a big impact on all generations beause of the what Gene tried to teach each and every person. You can purchase this series seasons seperatedly like I did because of the cost of the complete but I do suggest to everyone who is a science fiction fan or a Trekkie to go buy this series. If you want to buy other Star Trek Series, you can always buy one season a year or if you happen to get your income tax refund you can always buy all 4 series.

Big Bang Theory Review -- Geeky Humor

Plot: A woman who moves into an apartment next door to two brilliant but socially awkward physicists shows them how little they know about life outside of the laboratory. Some Famous Quotes from the show: Raj: I don't like bugs, okay? They freak me out. Sheldon: Interesting. You're afraid of insects and women. Ladybugs must render you catatonic. and Stephanie: *Looking in Sheldon's ear with an otoscope* I don't see anything at all Sheldon. Sheldon: Ahh, Well you're the doctor but I am constantly hearing this annoying sound. Leonard: Me too. Sheldon: Is it a high frequency whistle? Leonard: No its more of a relentless narcissistic drone. and Sheldon: *knock knock knock* Leonard? *knock knock knock* Leonard? *knock knock knock* Leonard? Leonard: *opens door* What Sheldon! What Sheldon! What Sheldon! Sheldon: Tell me what you see here. (Holding his laptop.) Leonard: The blunt instrument that will be the focus of my murder trial?
As you can see there are so really geeky humor in this show and that is why I love it. Johnny Galeck and Jim Parsons makes a great team and makes you believe there characters are real and expressive in material as much as in real life. Each episode is packed with laughter ad comedy and you will want to go back time and time again to laugh all over again. If you are a geek or nerd, this show will definitely keep your entertained and if your the outsider, you will understands geeks and nerds just a little bit better. In truthfulness this is one of those shows you can't wait to watch the next episode and can really be enlightening to the next generation. If you want to buy these episode seperately, and you might want to do that because You want to buy them one at a time. Here are the two links:

My Review of FlashForward First half of season 1

Plot Summary
Experience the nonstop action, excitement, and drama of the first ten episodes of the critically-acclaimed FlashForward and get set for television's best new show (Mark A. Perigard, Boston Herald) to grab hold of you from its first explosive moment. Chaos reigns after a mysterious event causes everyone in the world to lose consciousness at exactly the same time. Was it an act of nature or something far more sinister? During the global blackout, every man, woman and child was given a glimpse of his or her life six months in the future. One elite law enforcement team jumps into the investigation, attempting to solve the mystery, as the world's population wrestles with the choice of whether to embrace the fate they've seen or fight to change the future. Relive every brilliant twist of FlashForward's first ten episodes, and prepare yourself for what's to come in the second half of Season One. Who is D. Gibbons? Who is the shadowy figure unaffected by the blackout? And what's next for your favorite characters as their day of reckoning approaches? Plus, dig even deeper with never before seen bonus features and an exclusive sneak peek at the next chapter, only available on DVD.
So let's begin with what is this show all about? It is about how everyone in the world lost consciousness for 2 minutes and 17 seconds. This is a great show but some have thought of this as a remake of lost, I really don't know if it is true or not. I like the way they try to show use that we are destined and that we can't change but later in the first season we discover something that is almost a plot twist. They are using a season arch on this and I am really loving it, as time is getting closer to April 29, 2010 we discover some interesting facts about what really happened and why. This is the first half of the season DVD set but I can't wait to see rest of Season. It is one of the most compelling shows around right now that keeps me in my seat wondering what else will happen. What else will we find out? and who will we meet? and who will die? These are all questions that I am enjoying exploring with this series. I tell you should go watch this episode and decide for yourself but I really am loving how they have written these episodes so far. This series is action packed and thrilling to the end. I would love to hear what you have say about it and others.

My Review of Touched By an Angel Season 1 through 4

Product Description:
A trio of angels Monica (Roma Downey), Tess (Della Reese), and Andrew (John Dye) are dispatched from heaven with a special mission: to inspire people facing sometimes unseen crossroads in their lives. Monica, an angel who at times still needs some guidance with her earthly assignments, reports to Tess, her tough, wise and always loving supervisor. Also on hand is Andrew, who, in addition to his duties as the Angel of Death, now helps out as a caseworker on carious assignments. Gloria, an angel for the 21st century, continues to seek guidance from Monica performing her angelic duties. While the angels may not bring solutions to every problem, they always deliver a message of hope. Touched by an Angel also features an impressive array of guest stars, ranging from country music star Randy Travis to Academy Award winner Cloris Leachman (The Last Picture Show) to Marion Ross (Happy Days); one episode, about a radio talk-show host fighting with her teenage daughter, features Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch), James Marsden (X-Men), and Jack Black (School of Rock), all before their careers took off. Touched by an Angel: The Complete First Season has the first 13 episodes from 1994-95 and, as a bonus, the two-part series finale from 2003. --Bret Fetzer (From Amazon)
I love this series. If you ever wanted to be uplifted this show is for you. Della Reese and Roma Downey are great at bringing family together. This series was know for saying "God Loves YOU!" in every episode. What you might never know about this series is that Della Reese planned this series to be a full decade length, 10 seasons and never once waivered about the series. Each episode is full of heart and love. In any given episode you will find their was a great message for the old and young a like. Some other DVD's that I would suggest are:
This show was unique and cutting edge. It dared to tell and show people how much God loved them each and every episode. It is about time it is available on DVD in complete season formats. It is a show that you can set down with your family and watch and not worry about content. It is a great way to open dialogue about God. The fact that it didn't attach itself to one paritcular religion is what makes it's appeal wide. It touches on subjects like alzhiemers, racism, alcoholism, drugs, teen issues, depression, AIDS, suicide, internet preditors, and many more topics that when watching with your family it can open a dialogue on these issues too. This should be a must buy for anyone with family that wants something to watch with the kids. It is a must buy for the individual that wants to be reminded that God does love them even with their human faults. The guest star line up is like a who's who in Hollywood. Bill Cosby, Randy Travis, Patty Duke, Priscilla Presley, Wynonna Judd, Celine Dion, Mandy Patinkin, Cloris Leachman, and etc. etc. The regular cast that consists of Della Reese as Tess, Roma Downey as Monica, and John Dye as Andrew work so well together as a team and individually that you forget that they aren't really angels, yet makes you hope that there just might be angels like these. I just hope that seasons 2-9 will also be offered thru Amazon so people like me can have our show back again, even if we have already seen the shows. They are just as good the second time around. by M. McGill "Irishbunny" Rated this 5 out of 5
I strongly recommend this series to anyone who wants to feel closer to our faith and also get the heart warming feeling in our time. I remembering growing up with this show and will always love to be reminded of how things used to be. You'll love it just as much as I do, I can say with certainty.

Get the Complete Series of ER -- DVD or Video on Demand!!

Inspired by creator Michael Crichton's experiences as a medical student in a hospital emergency room, ER quickly became one of the most compelling shows of the 1990s, each episode a whirlwind of intense and involving drama, gritty realism, and offbeat humor. Heading the staff at the inner-city Chicago hospital is Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards), a doctor so good at providing care to the downtrodden, helpless, or just plain quirky patients that his career blossoms even as his personal life crumbles. Greene is the soul of the cast, but the heart is Julianna Margulies's nurse Carol Hathaway. Her character was intended only for the pilot episode, but she ended up capturing viewers with her palpable empathy for patients and her troublesome romance with womanizing pediatrician Doug Ross (George Clooney). The rest of the central cast consisted of compassionate Susan Lewis (Sherry Stringfield), Peter Benton (Eriq Lasalle), whose prodigious talent nearly matches his ambition, and his fresh-faced student, John Carter (Noah Wyle). Other key characters included ER heads Morgenstern and Swift (William H. Macy and Michael Ironside, respectively), overachieving student Deb (Ming Na), who returned later in the show's run, attending physician Angela Hicks (CCH Pounder), and physical therapist Jeanie Boulet (Gloria Rueben).
The remarkably strong first season showed off its sharp ensemble cast through a variety of compelling story lines both personal (Carter's conflicts with Benton, Lewis's struggles with her no-account sister, Chloe, played by Kathleen Wilhoite) and professional (a holiday blizzard and especially the harrowing tale of a pregnancy gone bad, "Love's Labor Lost," which won five Emmy Awards). When Carter is pondering whether his future includes the ER, Green jokes, "It's not bad: Stress, late nights, hard work, no pay--it's hard to beat." It's hard to imagine people choosing to work under those conditions, but they do, and in the process these very human people perform superhuman feats as they face life and death as part of their daily jobs. DVD features are fairly generous for a TV series box. There are two commentary tracks on the pilot episode, including one by Crichton, and crew commentaries on "Sleepless in Chicago" and "Love's Labor Lost." A new 39-minute documentary discusses the show's genesis, casting, and the "Chicago hospital drama smackdown" with Chicago Hope through interviews with Crichton, executive producer Steven Spielberg, other crew members, and the principal cast members other than Eriq LaSalle. Also included are a very watchable featurette on the show's realism (ever wonder why Ross is always looking down?) and another on post-production, a list of characters (including patients by episode, but why no actor credits?), three minor deleted scenes, outtakes, and a glossary of frequently used medical terms. Particularly notable is that the episodes are shown in anamorphic widescreen. ER was one of the first network shows broadcast in widescreen, but that was years after these episodes, which are shown in widescreen for the first time. --David Horiuchi
Dr. Susan Lewis: Students wanna be residents... residents wanna be attendings... Dr. John Carter: And attendings just wanna be left alone.
Now let's face it, if you like Drama and action, this is the show for you. Nothing in this series makes me not want to like each and every character. When I first watched this series in Season 1, my favorite character was Dr. Mark Greene. He was also in Northern Exposure Season 4 for 10 episodes as Mike Monroe. Anthony makes his character always jump out and be almost be a real character. Nothing he has done has been so life like than in the series ER. He makes you think he is a real doctor throwing out some of the medical terminology that comes along in the series and does it well. Farther down the road, you grow with this character in a way that makes you sad in the later season. I won't give away any details but if you know anything about these series is the DRAMA. I love how they have created the series and kept it alive for 15 seasons and it would be a waste not to have these as collectable or so you can go through a season whenever you want to watch something that is drama. I give this a 5 out of 5 Star Rating. I do not think this is designed for little childer but is viewable to the older kids 12 and older. I really don't think they will be interested in this until they are older.
